Thursday’s snowstorm didn’t carry the punch in the Fox Valley that some people feared, but the wet and heavy snowfall that blanketed the region was enough to set a record.
Appleton received 10.5 inches of snowfall on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. The city’s previous snowfall record for Dec. 20 was 5.4 inches, set in 2008.
