Suicidal man taken into custody in Hortonville

HORTONVILLE — An armed, suicidal man was safely taken into custody about 8 p.m. on Wednesday after initially refusing police orders to drop his handgun. Police had been searching for the 45-year-old man based on suicidal threats when he got out of his vehicle with a loaded handgun near S. Nash and Nye streets and pointed it at his head, Chief Michael Sullivan said. Police unsuccessfully negotiated with the man for about 20 minutes.
