High traffic intersection gets lights

Where Appleton, Buchanan and Harrison meet along County KK is Coop Road, which will get traffic lights next year. Mike Hardy, the city’s deputy traffic engineer, said the $980,000 project will begin in summer of 2013. It will be split with 90 percent state and federal funds and 10 percent local county and city dollars. There have been 47 crashes at the intersection, including 32 angle wrecks in five years, Hardy said. Full Story: Post Crescent
